This alpine ski set is designed for young male skiers in the U8 through U16 age groups who are aiming to compete in slalom. Inspired by Clément Noël’s race skis, the Dynastar Speed TM SL R21 combines a Titanal sandwich construction with a poplar wood core to deliver precision and control in tight, technical turns. The SPX11 GripWalk bindings round out the package with direct power transfer and broad compatibility with modern ski soles.

The ski’s construction is based on a Rectangular Minicap sandwich architecture with Titanal, a metal strip integrated into the sandwich that provides torsional stiffness and responsiveness under pressure. The Robusta Poplar Wood core—poplar wood selected for its lightness and consistency—ensures a progressive flex tailored to the chosen length, allowing every young skier to find performance characteristics consistent with their build and skill level. The Full Sidewall Sandwich construction on the sides guarantees direct transmission of the skier’s input to the snow, with no loss of energy during edge transitions.

The Sintered Factory Base, made from ultra-high-density material, promotes smooth and durable glide on competition runs. The R21 Pro interface plate optimizes the connection between the boot and the ski, enhancing technical precision in tight slalom gates. The Slalom Tip Protector shields the front of the ski during repeated contact with the gates—a practical feature that extends the equipment’s durability in a racing environment.

SPX11 GripWalk bindings for reliable hold and controlled release

The LOOK SPX 11 GripWalk B73 bindings are compatible with both classic ISO 5355 A soles and GripWalk ISO 23223 A soles, offering flexibility depending on the skier’s boot setup. The heel features 27 mm of elastic travel, a range that absorbs shocks and vibrations during the descent without triggering the release prematurely. The FDC toe piece incorporates a 180° multidirectional release, which helps reduce the risk of injury in the event of a fall in various directions. The Rolling Control system ensures efficient power transfer between the boot and the ski—an essential factor for maintaining precise control through every turn.

Pack Availability and Compatibility

The pack is available in two lengths, 142 cm and 149 cm, to accommodate the range of body sizes found among young competitive skiers. These shorter lengths meet the requirements of junior competitive alpine skiing, where maneuverability and responsiveness take precedence over high-speed stability. The set is available in a solid-color finish as part of the 2027 winter collection.
