Designed for young beginner to intermediate skiers, this Elan alpine ski pack combines a lightweight Full Cap construction with U-Flex technology, which increases the ski’s flexibility to make it easier to learn how to turn. The Rocker Tip profile makes it easier to initiate turns, while the GripWalk-compatible EL 4.5 GW bindings support safe progression on groomed slopes.
Designed for young skiers—both girls and boys—who are just starting out or improving their skills on groomed slopes, the Elan SKY Junior SHIFT EL 4.5 GW set combines child-friendly geometry with flexibility designed to make learning to turn easier. The Full Power Cap construction and the fiberglass-reinforced Synflex core provide a forgiving ride that supports early runs without hindering progress.
U-Flex technology increases the ski’s flexibility by 25% compared to a standard construction, reducing the effort needed to initiate a turn and helping children gain confidence on the slopes. The soft flex, combined with a Rocker tip profile—known as Early Rise Rocker—slightly lifts the tip to minimize snagging on groomed snow and make turns more intuitive. With a 7-meter turning radius and a waist width of 68 mm, the ski remains maneuverable on groomed runs while offering enough stability to progress with confidence.
The package includes EL 4.5 GW bindings, with a DIN range from 0.75 to 4.5—a range suited to the size and skill level of young beginner to intermediate skiers. These bindings are GripWalk-compatible, allowing them to be paired with GripWalk-soled boots for easier walking off-piste. The Full Power Cap construction of the ski-binding assembly ensures the set’s long-term durability—a key consideration for equipment intended for use season after season.
The ski’s geometry—with a 105 mm tip, a 68 mm waist, and a 90 mm tail—creates a slightly flared profile at the front that makes it easier to initiate turns. The standard length of 110 cm is suitable for children just starting out, and the simple, single-color design works equally well for boys and girls. The synthetic Synflex core, combined with a fiberglass laminate, keeps the weight down while ensuring sufficient stability for progressing on groomed slopes.
