Steps for maintaining your bases

1. Cleaning the bases: Before waxing, start by cleaning the bases to remove any residue and impurities. Use a suitable brush to prepare the base of the ski.

2. Choosing wax: The type of wax depends on the snow temperature and the type of glide you want. Waxing products come in several types of paraffin, suitable for cold, warm, or intermediate temperatures. Choose the wax that meets the needs of the day, whether it's hot waxing or base waxing for the season.

3. Applying wax: Using a waxing iron, apply a thin layer of wax to the base. Always work in the direction of glide, from the tip to the tail, for even distribution. Use about 15 grams of wax for each ski to achieve a uniform layer.

4. Scraping: After allowing the wax to cool, scrape it with a scraper to remove excess wax and ensure smooth gliding. This step is crucial to prevent any buildup that could slow down the ski.

5. Brushing the bases: Once scraped, the bases should be brushed with a special brush to achieve a perfect finish. This helps smooth the bases and improves glide by opening up the micro-pores in the wax.
