A women’s trekking backpack designed for challenging hikes

Designed specifically for women, the Osprey KYTE 48 Backpack is intended for multi-day hikes, treks, and routes where carrying your gear is a key factor in your comfort. Its 48 L capacity allows you to efficiently carry clothing, lightweight camping gear, and accessories while maintaining a compact profile for maneuvering on the trails. The dimensions of 66 x 36 x 29 cm offer a balanced profile for a long-distance hiking pack, while the weight of 1.85 kg is consistent with its rugged construction. The M/L size option allows you to adjust the back length to your body type so you can take full advantage of the torso adjustment built into the AirScape™ back panel.

An AirScape™ and LightWire™ carrying system for reliable support

At the heart of this trekking pack, the AirScape™ back panel provides a stable back structure with adjustable torso length, helping you precisely tailor the fit to your body type. The 3.5 mm LightWire™ suspension system helps distribute the load more evenly across your back, shoulders, and hip belt—a benefit during long days of hiking. The Spacermesh shoulder straps and hip belt are designed to provide enhanced comfort by improving contact and breathability where the pack rests against the body. This trio—the AirScape™ panel, LightWire™ frame, and Spacermesh hip belt—forms a carrying system designed for stability and endurance during treks.

Storage compartments designed for organizing trekking gear

The Osprey KYTE 48 backpack features a range of compartments and accessories that make it easy to organize your gear throughout your trek. The top pocket, featuring a large zippered compartment, keeps small items and gear you want to secure within easy reach. On the front, an expandable front pocket holds layers you need to put on or take off quickly, while the dual front daisy chains provide additional attachment points for gear. The sleeping bag compartment, combined with a floating divider, helps separate your sleeping gear from the rest of your gear for added convenience at camp. Removable sleeping bag straps, quick-release upper side compression straps, and ice tool loops double the external carrying capacity, and the Stow-on-the-Go trekking pole attachment optimizes pole handling during terrain transitions.

420D recycled nylon fabric and a rain cover for outdoor use

The choice of bluesign®-approved 420D recycled nylon for the main shell of the Osprey KYTE 48 Backpack ensures a fabric suitable for outdoor use, with durability calibrated for multi-day hikes. The PFAS-free DWR treatments applied to the fabric and the included rain cover help manage moisture and rain, complementing best practices for protecting your gear. The rain cover, also made with bluesign®-approved fabrics and PFAS-free water-repellent treatments, provides an extra layer of protection to keep your gear safe in the demanding environments described by the manufacturer.
