MOJITO RE-SHOES sneakers by Scarpa: the urban icon committed to the circular economy

Scarpa's MOJITO RE-SHOES sneakers embody a new vision of outdoor lifestyle footwear, where performance, style, and environmental responsibility come together as one. The result of the European LIFE Re-Shoes project, they are the first shoes designed from recycled MOJITO shoes at the end of their life, collected directly from consumers. This innovative approach places Scarpa among the pioneering brands in the circular economy applied to technical footwear.

Almost all of the components of the original shoes have been regenerated and transformed into secondary raw materials, which have been reused in the manufacture of these new MOJITO RE-SHOES. The result is a durable, comfortable, and versatile sneaker that is ideal for everyday use, urban travel, or trips.

Chrome-free recycled leather upper

The upper is made from suede leather treated with an innovative filler, obtained through a hydrolysis process applied to used MOJITO shoes, without the addition of chrome. This process limits the environmental impact while maintaining flexibility, resistance, and aesthetics. At the front, a rubber protector containing up to 35% devulcanized rubber effectively protects the shoe from wear and impact.

Precise lacing inspired by rock climbing

The Extended Lacing system, a signature feature of the MOJITO range, is inspired by the world of climbing and extends to the forefoot to provide a precise fit and excellent support. The absence of metal eyelets improves the future recyclability of the product. The laces combine recycled cotton and pre-consumer recycled PE, while the strap label is made from 100% recycled PE.

Comfortable lining with high recycled content

Inside, the textile lining incorporates 57% recycled polyamide, ensuring good thermal comfort, effective breathability, and a pleasant feel throughout the day.

Recycled, high-performance Presa® URB-06 sole

The Presa® URB-06 sole with recycled content was developed by Scarpa's R&D department. Crushed soles from recycled MOJITO shoes are incorporated into the midsole, achieving up to 35% recycled material. This combines low-density PU and recycled materials for excellent cushioning. The outsole contains up to 50% devulcanized rubber from SCARPA production waste, ensuring reliable grip on dry and wet surfaces.
