Plum R. WORLD CUP Ski Bindings: Designed for Ski Mountaineering Competition

The PLUM R. WORLD CUP competition ski mountaineering binding is designed for competitive skiers seeking an extremely lightweight ski touring binding specifically engineered for performance. ISMF-approved for national and international competitions, it meets regulatory requirements while optimizing every gram carried on the ascent. Weighing just 111 g per foot without a brake and 145 g with a ski brake, it minimizes fatigue on long ascents. On the descent, its precision-engineered construction of machined aluminum and titanium ensures efficient power transfer, allowing you to fully utilize your competition skis up to 70 mm wide.

Technical toe piece for precise entry

The Plum R. WORLD CUP’s front toe piece features a PIN TECH-style architecture that promotes precise entry and a direct connection between the boot and the ski. The inserts grip the ski mountaineering boot to ensure precise control during changes in pace on both ascents and descents. The precision machining allows for repeatable foot positioning, which helps maintain consistent feel from one run to the next. Compatibility with optional crampon mounts adds a significant advantage for securing the fit and trajectory on icy or sloping sections, without disrupting control during the descent.

Heel cup and heel wedge: longitudinal adjustment and efficient support

At the heel, the PLUM R. WORLD CUP ski mountaineering binding features a heel wedge adjustable from 0 to 38 mm. This longitudinal adjustment offers significant leeway to adapt the length to your boot or fine-tune positioning according to your style. On the ascent, this range allows you to find a support point consistent with your stride, limiting pressure points and promoting an efficient posture. On the descent, the heel piece works in tandem with the toe piece to ensure secure contact between the sole and the ski, contributing to better stability during the powerful pushes typical of competition courses.

Climbing wedges and integrated stopper: efficiency on the slope

The Plum R. WORLD CUP comes with an integrated, removable stopper, weighing 145 g per foot in this configuration. This ski brake helps ensure safety during the transition from ascent to descent, while remaining removable when you want to minimize weight during the climb. The heel wedge system, combined with this integrated stopper, allows you to quickly switch from a flat stride to a more elevated position depending on the slope profile. This lets you adjust the support under your foot, which reduces muscle fatigue during repeated ascents in ski mountaineering competitions.

Materials and Durability: 7075 Aluminum and Titanium Fork

The construction is based onsolid-machined 7075 aluminum, an alloy known for its excellent balance of stiffness and lightness. This precision machining contributes to a stable binding during descents while keeping weight under control on long carrying or climbing sections. The titanium fork at the heel piece provides high mechanical strength to withstand the repeated stresses associated with release and changes in cadence. The binding comes with a 2-year warranty, a clear indication of the manufacturer’s commitment to durability. Crampon mount options and an adjustment rail round out this package, allowing you to adapt your gear to changes in your skis or racing needs.
