Osprey Firn 28: a ski backpack with optimized organization for alpine ascents

Versatile and ingenious, the Firn 28 is designed for quick and intuitive handling. Every detail is designed to meet the needs of ski mountaineering:

• Ambidextrous lasso ski carrying system, allowing skis to be attached without removing the pack.
• Front pocket for avalanche tools, easily accessible in an emergency.
• Pocket for crampons and skins, with direct one-handed opening.
• Top rope strap and double attachments for ice axes or poles.
• Removable helmet net, concealed in the base pocket.

The whole package ensures exceptional fluidity of movement on challenging terrain, allowing you to move seamlessly between ascents and descents without wasting time.

Comfort designed for long days in the mountains

Despite its compact silhouette, the Firn 28 offers generous comfort. Its padded waist belt stabilizes the load while allowing freedom of movement for the torso. Perforated EVA foam and water-repellent stretch fabric ensure constant breathability and prevent snow from accumulating on contact surfaces. For long ascents, the HDPE frame plate provides a reliable structure, but can be removed to lighten the pack for faster outings. Each component is designed to achieve an optimal balance between support, ventilation, and freedom of movement.
