Choosing your ski touring skins

Ski touring skins: grip and glide on the way up

Seal skins are an essential part of any ski touring equipment, allowing you to climb snowy slopes in complete safety while saving energy. Attached to the bottom of the skis from tip to tail, they guarantee perfect grip on the snow when climbing, while providing the controlled glide you need to make progress in varied terrain.

Modern sealskins are made from synthetic fibres such as nylon or mohair blends, offering an optimum compromise between glide, grip and durability. Mohair models are prized for their excellent glide/stickiness ratio, while nylon skins are renowned for their robustness and resistance to wear. Some hybrid models combine these two materials for versatile performance, ideal for all types of snow.

How do you choose your sealskins?

The choice of seal skins depends on your practice and your equipment. Make sure you select skins that fit the width of your skis for complete coverage and optimum grip. Ease of attachment is also an important criterion: opt for fast, adjustable attachment systems for easy mounting and dismounting during your outings.

We offer a wide range of skins, from models designed for high mountain performance to solutions for beginner skiers. All our skins are designed to be lightweight and compact, making them easy to carry in your rucksack.

Care and longevity of sealskins

Good care extends the life of your sealskins. To prevent snow sticking to your skins, we recommend using special anti-slip sprays or bars. After each outing, it's important to dry them thoroughly before storing them in a dry place. With regular maintenance, your skins will retain their grip and gliding properties for several seasons.

Discover our selection of high-quality sealskins, suitable for all types of ski touring, and equip yourself for your next mountain adventure.
