It is designed for children ages 10 to 14 who want to hit the slopes for downhill skiing, snowboarding, or mountain biking with a level of protection that complies with current European standards. The D3O® technology integrated into the shell is its most distinctive technical feature.

D3O® Technology at the Heart of the PRORIDE II’s Back Protection

The D3O® pad used in this vest is based on a precise mechanical principle: its free-floating molecules remain flexible under normal conditions, then instantly agglomerate upon impact to form a rigid shell capable of dispersing the energy of the impact. Once the impact has passed, the material immediately regains its original flexibility. Combined with triple-density EVA foam, this assembly forms the jacket’s back shell and helps reduce the risks associated with falls, though it does not eliminate them entirely. The jacket complies with CE standards EN 1621-2 and CRITT VPSki-003 & VetPro VTT-007 05/2019, in accordance with European Regulation EU 2016/425.

Adjustable fit for comfortable everyday use

The body of the jacket is made of polyester mesh, a material that promotes airflow across the back and minimizes heat-related discomfort during prolonged physical activity. The front zipper makes it easy to put on and take off, even while wearing gloves. The adjustable waist strap helps secure the vest to the child’s torso and allows the back pad to be positioned according to the child’s body shape, ensuring the protective area remains securely in place throughout the session. The overall composition of the product—featuring 45% D3O®, 30% polyester, 15% nylon, 5% foam, and 5% rubber—strikes a balance between structural lightness and protective effectiveness.

The PRORIDE II D3O® Junior is specifically designed for alpine skiing, snowboarding, and mountain biking—three sports where back falls are common and the consequences can be severe. It is available in the Night Sky Camo colorway, in sizes for ages 10–12 and 12–14, and weighs 810 g. These features make it a junior back protector suitable for regular use in the field, without restricting movement or unnecessarily weighing down the child’s gear.
