Unisex and designed for technical mountain activities, the Black Diamond Storm+ Headlamp is intended for mountaineers, hikers, and trail runners who venture into demanding conditions. With a maximum output of 750 lumens and IP67 certification, it combines powerful lighting with serious weather resistance. Its three-lens optical system and multiple lighting modes make it a versatile tool, equally at home on a snow couloir as it is during a night spent bivouacking.

The Black Diamond Storm+ Headlamp: Lighting for Every Situation

The optical system features three distinct lenses: a flood lens for close-range work, a spot lens to project the beam up to 149 meters, and an RGB lens reserved for night vision modes. These modes include red, green, and blue lights, allowing you to maintain visual acuity in the dark without blinding your climbing partners. Stepless dimming and a strobe mode round out a range of settings that cover everything from reading in a tent to traversing glacial terrain.

Ergonomics Designed for Winter Conditions

The Storm+’s two oversized buttons are designed to remain accessible even when wearing thick gloves—a detail that really matters in high-altitude or extremely cold conditions. The mode memory retains the last brightness level used: every time the headlamp is turned on, it resumes exactly where it was turned off, without reverting to the default setting. The digital lock prevents accidental activation inside a backpack or pocket, thereby preserving battery life for when it’s truly needed.

Battery Life and Charging for Long Outings

The rechargeable 3.7 V, 2,200 mAh lithium-ion battery charges via a USB-C connector with pass-through functionality, allowing you to power other devices while charging. In low-power mode, battery life reaches 80 hours—more than enough to cover multi-day expeditions. The battery is also replaceable, a practical advantage for extended outings where recharging isn’t an option. A battery level indicator lets you monitor the charge status in real time and plan when to recharge. The entire unit weighs 114 g (battery included) and is IP67-certified for resistance to submersion up to one meter for thirty minutes.
