The GRIGRI belay device: compact and lightweight

Universal use on crags and indoors:

Belaying with the GRIGRI is simplified by a common gesture, based on accompanying the rope through the device and keeping one hand on the braking side of the rope at all times. Comfortable belaying is ensured by cam-assisted locking, which intervenes in the event of a fall or when the climber is resting. As the rope tightens, the cam swivels and grips the rope to lock it in place. This mechanism offers great tolerance of the hand position on the braking side, whatever the angle between the climber's rope and that on the braking side. For added safety, a rope installation diagram is engraved on both the inside and outside of the belay device.

Smooth, comfortable descent:

This Petzl harness offers exceptional comfort during descent, thanks to its ergonomic handle that ensures a comfortable grip and easy rope release. The control of the rope's movement is very progressive, providing a smooth, comfortable descent. The 3-fold leverage of the handle gives better control of rope movement on smaller diameters, and requires less effort on the handle for larger rope diameters.

Suitable for all climbers:

The GRIGRI is designed for all climbers, thanks to its ease of use, allowing both lead and top-roping. Its optimized ratio of lightness, compactness and durability makes it ideal for all climbers. It is compatible with all dynamic single ropes from 8.5 to 11 mm and is optimized for diameters between 8.9 and 10.5 mm.
