The POC POCITO OBEX Ski Helmet, designed for young riders on the slopes

The POC POCITO OBEX is a ski helmet designed specifically for young skiers and snowboarders, ages 3 and up. Combining lightweight design with proven protective technologies, it keeps children safe on the slopes by incorporating high-visibility features that make them more visible in the mountain environment. Its meticulous construction and finishes tailored to small heads make it a reliable piece of gear that doesn’t compromise on everyday comfort.

Protection and Construction: A Design Engineered to Reduce Risks

The POC POCITO OBEX ski helmet features an outer polycarbonate (PC) shell combined with an EPS liner—a combination that effectively absorbs energy during a direct impact. It incorporates the MIPS Evolve system, a technology that protects against rotational impacts: in the event of an oblique fall, a sliding inner layer reduces the rotational forces transmitted to the skull. The helmet is certified to EN 1077 Class B and ASTM F2040, two standards that attest to a validated level of protection for downhill skiing and snowboarding. A RECCO reflector is also integrated, making it easier to locate the wearer in the event of an accident in hard-to-reach areas.

Comfort and Fit: A Secure Fit for Active Kids

To ensure a precise fit regardless of head shape, the POCITO OBEX features a 360° adjustment system that allows the helmet to be precisely adjusted to fit the child’s head. The removable ear pads offer welcome flexibility depending on the conditions and preferences of each young rider. Weighing approximately 410 g for the smallest sizes, the helmet remains lightweight to wear throughout a full day on the slopes, reducing the neck strain often experienced with heavier gear.

Visibility and Ventilation: Thermal Comfort and Passive Safety on the Slopes

The fluorescent colors and reflective details of the POC POCITO OBEX ski helmet significantly improve the child’s visibility to other trail users—a feature that’s particularly useful in low-light conditions or on crowded slopes. Ventilation is provided by front-to-back channels that promote airflow and regulate temperature during physical activity. Special ventilation vents help wick away moisture from the goggles, reducing the risk of fogging.

Goggle Compatibility and Everyday Practicality

The POCITO OBEX is designed to integrate seamlessly with the brand’s goggles, thanks to a fixed goggle clip that keeps the goggles securely in place during runs. This compatibility, built in from the design stage, eliminates gaps between the helmet and the goggles, improving both visual comfort and protection against the cold. The helmet is available in size 48–52, suitable for young children and those just starting out.

With its proven protective technologies, lightweight design, and details focused on passive visibility, the POC POCITO OBEX is ideal for families who want to equip their children with a reliable ski and snowboard helmet for alpine slopes, season after season.
