SPX 13 GW B90 Bindings

Designed for the demanding all-mountain skier, the LOOK SPX 13 GW B90 is positioned in the intermediate-expert category with a DIN range from 4.0 to 13.0. They are aimed at experienced skiers capable of putting the binding through its paces on varied terrain, both on-piste and on marked off-piste trails. The product’s promise is based on three complementary features: reliable multidirectional release, effective shock absorption, and broad compatibility with modern boots. The Purple Metal colorway provides a distinctive visual identity without compromising performance.

Release and Safety: Elasticity and Multidirectionality for Enhanced Retention

The technical core of the Look SPX 13 GW B90 bindings is based on two distinct elements that work in tandem. The Full Action stopper provides 45 mm of elastic travel—one of the highest figures in its class—and ensures a 180° multidirectional release. This upward mechanical release operates independently of the heel thanks to the Multi Directional Release system, meaning that in the event of a fall involving both torsion and forward flexion, the binding can release the foot across a very wide release arc, reducing stress on the knee and leg.

On the heel side, SPX technology offers 27 mm of elastic travel and incorporates an oversized pivot at the heel. This pivot enhances the coupling force between the boot and the binding, which improves power transfer to the ski while maintaining reliable retention during dynamic movements. Long Elastic Travel technology extends this travel for rapid realignment after shock absorption, limiting unintended releases without compromising safety. DIN settings must be adjusted by a professional based on the skier’s weight, height, skill level, and sole length.

Base Compatibility: Alpine and GripWalk supported

The SPX 13 GW B90 ski bindings support two distinct sole standards, significantly expanding their range of use. They are compatible with traditional alpine soles per ISO 5355 A and with GripWalk soles per ISO 23223 A. This dual compatibility allows the binding to be used with both classic alpine ski boots and models equipped with GripWalk soles, whose rounded profile makes walking around the resort easier. It is essential to check your boot’s sole standard before installation: sole incompatibility poses a real safety risk. The 80–90 mm brake is suitable for skis with a waist width within this range or slightly below it; the brake must extend slightly beyond the waist to ensure effective stopping of the ski in the event of release.

Construction and Transmission: Rolling Control Technology

The Rolling Control technology integrated into the binding components is designed to minimize roll at the boot-binding interface before engagement. In practice, this results in more direct power transfer between the foot and the ski—a key factor for skiers seeking to fully harness the potential of their equipment on technical terrain. The entire unit weighs 1,110 g, which is consistent with its performance level and the technologies it incorporates. The binding is available in one size, with a brake designed for skis with a waist width of 80 to 90 mm.

The Look SPX 13 GW B90 bindings are designed for experienced skiers who practice all-mountain skiing with Alpine or GripWalk boots, on skis with a waist width in the 80–90 mm range. The combination of built-in technologies—from extended elastic travel to dual-standard compatibility—makes this a well-rounded choice for those seeking mechanical reliability and versatility in their winter activities.
