Spyder, at the forefront of innovation for over 40 years

A brand created to excel

Founded in 1978, Spyder offers high-end clothing at the cutting edge of innovation.

It all began when David Jacobs, the brand's founder, created the first padded racing sweater. Racers rushed to get their hands on this revolutionary new safety equipment, and the leader in technical alpine skiwear was born. The range expanded in 1986 with a speed suit that broke all records. The goal? To continue research into the development of new materials that would defy all competition for the world's best athletes.

The transformation of skiing

The dawn of the new millennium marked the emergence of a new style of skiing. In search of thrills, the mountains became the new playground for skiers. Off-piste exploration, powder descents, acrobatic tricks pushing the limits of nature: freeskiing was born. And with it, the new Venom range.

Exoshield: Cutting-edge technology for demanding skiers

The evolution of innovation

Skiers are constantly pushing their limits. They seek perfection. Advanced Exoshield technology meets their demands by protecting them from extreme conditions. Superior waterproofing, optimal breathability, not to mention comfort and thermal insulation. The Exoshield membrane allows for perfect moisture wicking while preventing outside moisture from entering.

Spyder ski clothing is 4-way stretch, allowing for a wide range of movement without sacrificing mobility. Their manufacturing processes are also cleaner: PFAS-free, with recycled materials, so you can keep skiing for a long time. In line with this same focus on performance and sustainability, their ski pants offer optimal protection while ensuring comfort and freedom on the slopes.

Which Exoshield membrane for which skier?

Exoshield fabrics are available in different waterproof and breathable ratings. The terms 10K, 20K, and 30K are used to evaluate the performance of ski clothing. For 30K waterproofing, the fabric can withstand 30,000 mm of water. 30K breathability allows 30,000 g of vapor to be wicked away in 24 hours.

Whether you're choosing a men's ski jacket, a women's ski jacket, or ski pants, find the Exoshield membrane that's right for you.

An Exoshield membrane with 30K waterproofing and breathability is ideal.

The 30K waterproof rating provides protection against severe weather conditions such as snowfall or extreme conditions. The 30K breathability rating ensures optimal moisture management so that high-level skiers can excel while remaining comfortable. This allows them to focus on their performance.

The Exoshield 20K membrane is ideal for this purpose.

Experienced skiers are not afraid to explore the mountains and spend time in challenging environments. The 20K waterproof rating provides excellent protection against snowfall or rain. The 20K breathability allows for a wide range of performance-oriented activities, sometimes in challenging but not extreme conditions.

This membrane is ideal for active people or those who sweat a lot.

In one case, an Exoshield 10K membrane will suffice for moderate skiers looking for quality.

10K waterproofing is effective for general use on the slopes or freeskiing in non-severe conditions, or when intense activities are not planned. This membrane protects against moisture, but not during heavy snowfall or intense rain.

10K breathability is suitable for moderate skiing and offers optimal management and comfort for most activities.
