The Salewa brand was created in the 1930s by a German entrepreneur and at the beginning of its history specialised in leather goods and shoemaking.
The brand went on to specialise in the manufacture of ski poles and technicalmountaineering equipment. It accompanied the conquest of the Andes in the 50s with innovations such as cramponable boots and lightweight, adaptable and adjustable crampons.
Today Salewa is still involved in innovation in technical equipment and mountain footwear.
