The Copper Spur 3 Platinum from Big Agnes, part of the Crazylight range, stands out for its generous living space and featherweight. With a total weight of 1,470 grams, and just 1,100 grams in "fast fly" configuration, this freestanding three-person, three-season tent is the lightest in the series. It's ideal for duo or trio treks and bivouacs, offering easy setup, convenient storage and comfortable living space.

Design and space

The Copper Spur 3 Platinum is designed with steep vertical walls, optimising interior space to avoid a feeling of claustrophobia on rainy or windy days. The volume is generous at the head and tapers towards the feet to keep weight to a minimum. The two-tone polyester mesh fabric of the inner tent offers both privacy and an unobstructed view of the starry sky when the rain fly is not in place.

Access and ventilation

This tent has two entrances and two side apses, providing easy access without disturbing other occupants. The awnings in each vestibule can be tensioned with trekking poles or extra stakes to create areas of shade and relaxation. These canopies are stabilised by additional ropes, allowing the camp layout to be customised as required.

Simplified assembly

The TipLok Tent Buckle™ mechanism greatly simplifies assembly by combining three functions into a single system: the secure fixing of the hoop, the tensioner of the double roof, and the loop for planting the sardine. This system ensures that the hoops stay in place, making installation quick and hassle-free, even solo.

Storage and organisation

The tent has multiple pockets for storing personal belongings and electronic devices, as well as 3D pockets for organising equipment without taking up sleeping space. These storage options keep the inside of the tent clean and functional, contributing to optimum comfort.
