A brand born from adventure

Sea to Summit was born from the meeting between Roland Tyson, passionate about technical equipment design, and mountaineer Tim Macartney-Snape, known for his challenging expeditions to Everest. Together, they imagined a brand capable of meeting the real demands of the field: minimal weight, reduced volume, maximum resistance. The name "Sea to Summit" refers to an iconic expedition connecting sea level to the summit of Everest.

Tim Macartney-Snape was one of the first mountaineers to connect the sea to Everest, setting out from the Bay of Bengal to reach the roof of the world, without oxygen and completely self-sufficient. This extraordinary adventure directly inspired the name and philosophy of Sea to Summit: to go as far as possible with the simplest and most effective equipment.
