RACER®: The Brand’s Origins and History
The history of RACER® began in 1927 in the French tanneries of Vendôme. Following a trip to New York, Mr. Patault wanted to give his brand a name with international appeal. Inspired by skiers hurtling down the slopes at full speed, RACER® was born. The very first products were gloves designed for mountaineers and skiers, with the goal of helping them reach their full potential.
In 1968, the brand became the official supplier to the French and Austrian teams at the Winter Olympics in Grenoble, a recognition that cemented its expertise in high-altitude sports. Two years later, in 1970, RACER® expanded its expertise by launching its first collection of gloves designed for motorcycling.
Today, the brand is still based in France, with its design studio in Salon-de-Provence, where materials are selected and products are inspected before and after each production run.

Product Development and Innovation at RACER®
Innovation has been at the heart of RACER®’s identity since its inception. The brand incorporates the most advanced technologies on the market into its ski gloves: GORE-TEX® membranes for waterproofing and breathability, D3O® smart protection for shock absorption, as well as insulation such as goose down, PRIMALOFT®, or FIBERFILL, depending on the model.

RACER® offers a selection of gloves and accessories designed for the mountains and winter sports: men’s, women’s, and children’s ski gloves, mittens, liner gloves, insulated neck warmers, and fleece balaclavas. The range caters to all levels, from the casual skier to the demanding enthusiast seeking protection and durability.
For younger skiers, RACER® also offers protective vests, such as the Turtle Vest, designed to keep children safe on the slopes.
