How can you repair, sharpen, and maintain your ski base yourself?
Give them a facelift in just a few minutes: follow these simple steps to bring your skis or board back to life.
- Clean the base with a nylon brush to remove dust and old wax.
- Apply a thin layer of suitable wax (hot, cold, or universal) with a waxing iron, maintaining a constant temperature.
- Smooth immediately with the scraper, following the golden rule below.
- Polish with a bronze brush to open up the base structure and improve glide.
Golden rule: always scrape in the direction of travel, from the front (tip) to the back (tail), never the other way around! Finish with a few strokes of the bronze brush, always from front to back. Your skis will be as good as new, without having to go to the shop.
