Family tents

Family tents can accommodate 4, 5, 6, or even 8 people. They are designed to provide maximum comfort for their occupants during their stay. They offer sufficient height to stand up inside the tent and include a communal space to seek shelter in inclement weather.

Family tents also feature multiple rooms to ensure some privacy for the occupants. Their generous size also provides ample space to store all belongings and equipment.

Being bulky, heavy, and time-consuming to set up, these tents are suitable for longer camping trips with family or friends.

Easy-to-set-up camping tents

If you want to spend a few days camping with minimal comfort and without spending too much time setting up your tent, a 2 or 3-person camping tent is ideal. It can be quickly and easily pitched while still offering sufficient comfort for a good night's sleep.

Trekking and bivouac tents

For hiking, it's best to opt for a lightweight tent that is specifically designed for the season. To have a good night's sleep during a bivouac, choose a trekking tent that is not too heavy to avoid unnecessary bulk. If you are planning to hike for several consecutive days, go for lightweight gear and adjust the number of occupants to the size of the tent. There's no need to take a 3-person tent if you are only two people.

Ultralight tents

Ultralight tents are favored by trekking enthusiasts. The ultralight gear allows you to carry an extremely lightweight and compact tent, minimizing weight and bulk in your backpack.

Make sure to choose a tent that is suitable for the season and terrain. For winter mountain outings, opt for a 4-season tent that can withstand sub-zero temperatures, wind, and snowfall. For other seasons, a 3-season tent will suffice. A freestanding dome-shaped tent is preferable to a tunnel tent if you plan to bivouac on rocky terrain where it is impossible to anchor stakes.
