Samaya BASECAMP tent
The Speck-Sports team presents the new tent in the Samaya collection: the BASECAMP.
This four-person tent is designed for the most demanding expeditions, where comfort and serenity are the key words.
The 5-poleDAC PL aluminium frame is 10.65 mm wider, easy to erect and designed to protect against strong winds. Its geodesic structure with 7 poles crossing each other maximises the interior volume while guaranteeing a frame capable of withstanding heavy snowfalls. To increase the tent's strength, it is possible to double the structure.
The 55 metres of guy wires guarantee flawless stability in winds of up to 100 km/h.
For protection against the elements, the floor is made of 70D Nylon PU/Silicone with 10,000 mm of waterproofing and the roof is made of 66 High tenacity 30D Ripstop Nylon with 3,000 mm of waterproofing, giving you a completely waterproof tent. The YKK zips add yet another layer of waterproofing.
The Basecamp's three openings allow you to select your access depending on the wind direction. Once inside, the two apses provide ample storage space for your bulky gear.
The fabric of the chamber is Nylon 66 High tenacity 20D Ripstop and there are also multiple vents to evacuate moisture and prevent frost forming in the Basecamp.
Finally, its relatively heavy weight means you can divide the load in three.
